Portraiture for me began as a simple endeavor. Take pictures of people and make them look pretty. Over time I saw how wonderfully complicated it really is. A portrait, a good portrait, is not a picture of a person. I am capturing a relationship with the person I am shooting. This emotional exchange is, for me, the reason I love what I do.
